LAP PatPos MM

Patient Movement Monitoring Laser

The LAP PatPos MM is a sagittal line laser that can also monitor patient movement during radiation oncology treatments. The system contains a diode line laser, a motion detector, a micro controller, and a special reflector strip that is taped to the patient. The reflector strip can be placed anywhere in the path where the laser line strikes the patient.

In treatments of patients with margins close to organs at risk, or to simply establish whether a patient moves excessively during treatment, the PatPos MM is an effective control tool for the radiation oncologist in accurately depositing the radiation dose into the tumor.
