PICTOR 3D - The Next Generation in Patient Marking and Virtual Simulation

There is room for improvement when it comes to the transfer of patient data between the imaging, therapy planning and positioning system.

This issue is being addressed by the next generation of LAP products. The users of the machines required a smoother transition between the imaging technology and methods, the marking and the radiation process. This led to the creation, through many years of collaboration with leading manufacturers of imaging systems and radiation devices, of the integration platform ARGO NAVIS.

ARGO NAVIS represents a radical step forward, and the start of a new chapter in terms of the work carried out during radiation therapy. Our system software CARINAsim satisfies the requirements of users at the highest level and ensures quality-oriented therapy processes. All functions are accessed via a touchscreen (Single Point Access).

CARINAsim is downwardly compatible with DORADO systems.

With the PICTOR 3D laser projector, LAP is taking a new approach to marking – complex outlines, which are already used in IRMT, can now be displayed instead of crossing laser lines.

The most important step taken by LAP, however, is the transition to the standard DICOM RT interface. The storage of patient data or control information at different locations in various formats is now therefore consigned to the past. Take a step into the future with LAP and ARGO NAVIS.

PICTOR 3D is a beam’s eye view projection system, integrated with the treatment planning and virtual simulation systems.

The patented Pictor 3D technology utilizes DICOM RT data to calculate the coordinates of the intersection of the radiation field with the surface of the patient.

The laser is rapidly projected along the contour of the desired intersection area, so that a solid contours of the desired fields are achieved.

The CARINAsim software calculates the coordinates of the intersecting therapy field, based on the target volumes established by the treatment planning, and the patient surface. The laser projection is then controlled accordingly.
